This year in conjunction with the NEA Pageants, we conducted a Princess in Training Program.  Young ladies from across the area gathered during the week before the pageant to learn about etiquette, manners, and several of the duties and responsibilities of being a princess.

On Monday, they worked with 2009 NEA's Outstanding Teen, Shaylee Lawhon, to learn about the importance of keeping their "castle" clean, those important "Magic Kingdom" words of Please and Thank You, how to curtsy, and began work on their production number to be presented during the pageant.  They put all this training to practical use during their Tea Party.

On Tuesday, they worked with 2009 Miss NEA, Morgan Bookout, to reinforce the things taught on Monday, listened to a story, learned the Princess Pledge, and worked on production and on stage activities for the pageant.

Thursday saw these young ladies looking beautiful for the camera as they had photos taken at Schlosser Photography.

Friday was stage work day.  All the activities were practices on the stage.

Saturday - THE BIG DAY.  Princesses received their crowns during the pageant,  took the Princess Pledge, and performed their production number.  The princesses were also used during the evening gown phases of competition to present a rose to each of the contestants.

Congratulations to each of the young ladies who participated and a special THANK YOU to their families for allowing them to participate.

Photos will be coming soon!!
